Map Pack: Asian Towns

A new city drawing style for Asian-style towns, based on the artwork of Sue Daniel.

Based on the artwork of the Japanese temples Annual issue (September), the Asian Towns style adds more symbols for "normal" town houses, farms, and noble housing, and incorporates everything into one big collection of city material. The 6-page mapping shows you how to construct a town using these assets.

Map Pack: Curse of the Lich King

Christina Trani (Lorelei in the Profantasy community) has created a series of thematic map with her signature attention to detail and beauty, as shown in her mapping work on the Fire & Faith sourcebook from Pelgrane Press.

The map collection "Curse of the Lich king" takes an adventuring party through the cursed lands surrounding the lair of the eponymous undead, through his crumbling tower into the underground vault of death and decay. Everything is ready for the heroes to explore and loot - and possibly perish in it.

The map pack Curse of the Lich King includes:

• Four high-detail maps in DM and player versions (FCW, PNG and PDF formats).
• 3-page mapping guide, detailing the styles and add-ons used on the respective maps.
• 1 new symbol catalog containing 4 custom symbols created for this map.

Map and Tutorial Pack: Bridge Diorama

An elaborate Diorama drawing, along with a detailed tutorial on how to construct such a model from scratch. The bridge that can be built from this issue can be constructed in multiple sections to allow for different lengths.

The 9-page mapping guide takes you from planning the model through drawing and printing it to assembling it with craft knife and glue bottle. It also previews a couple of the new bitmap textures included in Dioramas 3.

Style Pack: Dark Fantasy

An old-time classic brought into the CC3+ era: the Dark Fantasy symbol set with its more than 600 symbols gets its own style in CC3+. As a set of vector symbols originally created for CC2 Pro, this issue also demonstrates how vector symbols profit from sheet and effect settings.

The "Dark Fantasy" symbol pack is a full overland style with hundreds of updated symbols, dozens of drawing tools and a whole set of forest settings. It also contains a 6-page mapping guide walking you through the creation of a complete map.

A gorgeous new city style by Sue Daniel, allowing you to draw highly detailed plans of Japanese-style temples and temple complexes. Pagodas, encircling walls, temple halls, gravel gardens and - of course - blossoming cherry trees are just some of the symbols contained within this style pack.

The Japanese Temple style lays the groundwork for more style packs in the future, which will expand it into a large city style for all manner of different Asian cities and temples. We've taken the beautiful Mike Schley Overland style from CC3+ and create a hex-based version of it. At the same time we've taken the opportunity to look at some techniques of placing symbols which - simple as it sounds - will make the details of your map stand out.

The style and tutorial pack Mike Schley contains all the templates, symbols and tools for you to create hex-based maps in Mike Schley's signature look, and the accompanying mapping guide/tutorial includes a detailed look at symbol placement.

The style pack Mike Schley Hex includes:

Style Pack: Myrklund

A new style by proffesional rpg writer, graphic artist and map maker Glynn Seal. He created a flamboyant fantasy map style called Myrklund which we've converted into a full-fledged CC3+ overland style.

The style "Myrklund" has more than 200 detailed symbols covering all aspects of overland mapping and also includes black and white versions of all the symbols. The accompanying mapping guide takes you through the complete process of creating a fantasy map in CC3+.

Style Pack: Star Charts

A new style pioneered by Wyvern (Alastair McBeath) on the Profantasy community forum. His star charts for the Community Atlas project caught our attention and he kindly permitted us to use them as the basis for an Annual issue.

The style pack "Star Charts" provides a whole series of templates that allow you to map a fictional night sky for your world(s) of imagination. Ever wondered what constellations grace the black velvet of your worlds night? Now you can see them layed out!

Symbol Pack: City Domes

A set of almost 200 bitmap symbols by Sue Daniel, adding a wide range of high detail domed roof symbols which can be used in City Designer 3 or on their own.

Inspired by real-life buildings like Saint Basil's cathedral in Moscow or Kizhi Pogost in Kirelia, the City Dome symbols can be added to any city building to create beautiful palaces, stunning palaces and similar structures.

Symbol Pack: City Ruins

City Ruins by Pär Lindström contains a symbol pack for city maps, expanding your options for styles like CC3 Basic City, CD3 Bitmap B (if you own City Designer 3), or really almost any other.

More than a hundred new symbols allow you to map those old town ruins, or that big rubble city quarter in detail and style. The accompanying mapping guide discusses how best set up the included symbols with sheets and effects.

Symbol Pack: Dungeon Walls

A set of symbols to create irregular and varied dungeon walls. Set up to be used with the updated version of the Symbols Along (ESC) command (as of version 3.80), the symbols make creating an irregular-looking dungeon wall quick and easy.

The wall symbols are set up to work with multiple dungeon styles (Dungeon Designer 3, Symbol Set 2 and Symbol Set 4). The accompanying mapping guide takes an in-depth at using the new and old features of the Symbols Along command.

Tool Pack: Deckplan Geomorphs

A tool pack to create large starship or space station deckplans very quickly, by designing and using geomorphic deckplan tiles. Each tile fits a 20m by 20m area and contains functions like the bridge, cargo space or a gun battery. The December issue contains a dozen example tiles and the templates to create as many more as you want, using Cosmographer 3.

The Deckplan Geomorphs tool pack was inspired by the work of Robert Pearce on his Yet Another Traveller Blog, where he provides just such a collection of geomorph tiles for Traveller's signature black and white deckplans.
