Technical Support

I get an Error 75 when I try to install an add-on.

Error 75 indicates a file access problem when our menu configuration utility program, called CC3MenuConfig, discovers CC3 add-ons and synchronises their menus and CC3's. All files will have been installed but menus will appear broken because they were not properly synchronised.

This error is rare and, to resolve it, you can run the CC3MenuConfig.exe utility manually, which will be located as follows:

  • For CC3, in the CC3 program folder, by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Profantasy\CC3
  • For CC3+, in the hidden program data folder, by default C:\ProgramData\Profantasy\CC3Plus.

You may need to show hidden folders in Windows Explorer.

Right-click CC3MenuConfig to run as admin. It should execute silently, after which CC3 will be ready for use. If there are error messages, please contact us via personal support with the message text.

You will need to repeat this process each time you add or remove add-ons but, if you are installing several, you can save up the errors and do the fix in one go at the end.

An add-on installer fails, says CC3 needs to be installed

In most cases, this is fixed by:

  1. Start CC3+
  2. Save the file that comes up (this also creates the missing installation data)
  3. Exit CC3.
  4. Now try installing the add-on.

If this does not correct the problem do the following:

  1. Do Windows >> Start >> Run. Type regedit into the box & then click OK.
  2. Click on My Computer in the left panel, then File Menu >> Export to save a copy of your Registry. Do not proceed unless you have completed this step!
  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EvolutionComputing\CampaignCartographer3\AppPath
  4. In the right hand panel look at what value is in AppPath. It should be something like
C:\Program Files\CC3 or whatever your actual path is. If it is not there or if it is different than where CC3 actually is, then right click on AppPath & change the path to where CC3 is. Make sure you spell everything correctly!
  5. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EvolutionComputing\CampaignCartographer3\SerialNum (not SerialNR which is FCW-5000-50000 & needs to be there)
  6. Verify that the number in this key (in the right panel) is your CC3 serial number, if it is not your serial number or if that key is missing you need to add your serial number. To add a new key, right click in the right hand panel, then choose New >> String Value. Name it SerialNum, then input your serial number - no leading or training spaces & put the dashes in as well. If the key is there but no serial number in it you should be able to just right click on the key & input the serial number.
  7. Run the add-on installer again.
CC3+ installation
  1. Download and install CC3PlusSetup.exe from your registration page.
  2. Download and install any add-ons and annuals you have purchased. The order in which you do this does not matter.
  3. Download and install the latest update to CC3+. It is available from your registration page.
Can't get a high resolution BMP/PNG/JPG export

Use PDF Creator, an open source print driver which exports in many formats. We produced a 6600 px image from this.

  1. In CC3 set Tools >> Options Resolution Divided by to 2.
  2. Print >> Set the printer to PDF Creator.
  3. Click Properties >> Advanced, set the resolution 1200dpi, and the paper size to letter.
  4. Print.
  5. When you see the PDF Creator dialog, click Options and choose PNG, set the resolution to 600 dpi.
  6. Click Save, pull down the file type to be PNG and and type a file name.

It might vary from drawing to drawing and system to system, but it seems to give good high resolution results.

Map won't print, prints blank page or other printer issue.

Click on Print and look at the "View to Print" section. The sheet drop-down should say "All visible sheets as one page (Standard CC3 drawing)" and the "Common prints on all button should be checked.

If you are having trouble printing, for example using a color laser with low memory, you can reduce the print resolution. Select Options on the Tools menu and change the "Divide Resolution by" number to a lower value. The default is 2. If you want to try a higher resolution to improve your print quality, try 1.

As a work-around and to test print problems, install a PDF print driver and print to a PDF file. Free PDF printers include PDF995 and PDF Creator.
