Sheets and Symbols

In a CC3 drawing or symbol catalog, the symbol definitions are stored in an invisible area of the drawing that you cannot edit directly. With CC3 alone, you can edit individual symbol defintions using Edit Symbol Defintion, but you can’t edit more than one symbol defintion at once. The Catalog utilities allows you to do this by letting you convert the symbol defintions into sheets.

SYMDEFS TO SHEETS converts the symbol definitions into named sheets and SHEETS TO SYMDEFS converts the sheets back into symbol definitions afterwards. Whilst they are are in sheet form you can:

·   Use the SHEETS dialog box from the to move sheets up and down, rename them and delete them. image\buttonarrow.gif

·   Move between each sheet using NEXT SHEET and PREVIOUS SHEET.image\buttonarrow.gif

·   Show all the sheets using SHOW ALL SHEETS, allowing you to edit all the sheets at the same time, for example changing the color of all the trees. Reverse this with HIDE ALL SHEETS to edit only the current sheet. image\buttonarrow.gif

·   Change the order of entities using FRONT (ON THIS SHEET) and BACK (ON THIS SHEET). The usual FRONT and BACK commands send entities to the front or back of the entire drawing.image\buttonarrow.gif

·   Copy entities onto visible sheets, changing many sheets at once using COPY TO VISIBLE SHEETS.image\buttonarrow.gif
