Although we designed CC3’s user interface for a mouse, you can use a graphics tablet instead.

In order to use your digitizing tablet, you must first install a Wintab driver, version 1.0 or later. The Wintab should be included with your tablet. If not, or if your tablet is an older model, try contacting the tablet manufacturer. If the manufacturer has an Internet web site, the Wintab driver should be available there for immediate download.

When CC3 detects a properly installed Wintab driver, the Tablet menu appears (before the Help menu entries).

Note: If you do not have a Wintab driver installed on your system (i.e., no tablet hardware), CC3 does not display the Tablet menu. This is normal behavior.

You can designate three areas on the graphics tablet:

·   A mouse screen area, in which you use the tablet puck or stylus like a mouse to select menu items, icons, and screen locations for drawing.

·   A menu area, a rectangular array of cells that you can program like function keys.

·   A real digitizing area, for tracing existing drawings or maps.

Before you setup and calibrate your digitizer, you can use CC3 to draw an overlay that you can tape to the tablet showing the mouse, menu, and real (tracing) areas.
