To add a number label to the current drawing select Text > Number Label:
The prompt reads "Number[1]:" Type a starting number or press the right button to accept the default. The default changes to the last number added.
The prompt reads "Text Position:". Select a point to insert the number label.
The command autorepeats with a new number. Place this or press the right button to finish the command.
All the options available for inserting text are available for inserting numbers (for example arrow keys increment to increment the numbers),

Place Number Labels on their own layer.
Use the Info > Link commands to link these to notes on the various rooms.
