Character menu: Change Outline Color
CHANGE OUTLINE COLOR changes the or outline color of selected entities to a chosen color. The interior, or color is not affected.
TO SELECTED COLOR allows you to change the outline color to a color selected from the dialog box or typed in at the keyboard.
TO MATCH INTERIOR changes the outline color to match the interior color, effectively removing the outline.
Note: CC3’s OUTLINE IN CURRENT COLOR and OUTLINE IN BLACK commands do not change the outline color of selected entities, instead, they add an outline (a hollow copy) of the selected entities. This is to make it easier to select by color.
The CHANGE OUTLINE COLOR commands are added to the Catalog utilities because entities within symbols often need to be outlined. Adding an extra entity with the usual OUTLINE commands causes the symbol to be invisible when moved around the screen; only odd numbers of entities display during a dynamic move operation. So this method is much more efficient, and entities within symbols are rarely selected by color, anyway, lessening the likelihood of confusion.
