Using dynamic cursors

For some commands CC3 displays special dynamic cursors that show you exactly how the new entities will look as you position them for placement. This is particularly useful with symbols and text.

Whenever you see a dynamic cursor, you can use the SHIFT, CTRL, and ARROW keys to rotate, scale and move your on the fly. Some commands will offer you additional options.

Experiment by using the SHIFT, CTRL, SHIFT+CTRL, and ARROW keys while dragging the mouse around to get a feel for this feature.

Use the CTRL (Control) key with the dynamic cursors:

Hold down the CTRL key to scale (enlarge or shrink) an entity while placing it.

Use the SHIFT+CTRL combination with the dynamic cursors:

Hold the SHIFT-CTRL keys together to rotate an entity while placing it.

Use the ARROW keys with the dynamic cursors:

Tap an ARROW key to ortho rotate while placing it. The entity will rotate at either 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270° depending upon which arrow key is pressed.

Use the SHIFT key with the dynamic cursors:

Hold down the SHIFT key to move or drag an entity while placing it. In commands where you are already moving or dragging, SHIFT rotates in 15° increments.
