The drawing window is where you view your drawing, select entities and enter information. It is like the viewfinder of a camera. The map always stays the same size; what you see in the viewing window is a magnified area of the map. What you see is controlled from the View menu and with zooms and the scroll bars.
You can have more than one drawing window open on the map at one time. See Using Drawing Windows Only one window is affected by zooms (the active window bordered in red)
You can print what you see in the viewing window by using the Active Window option in the print dialog box.
